Granada can be easily accessible from U.S. and European Union (EU) by plane through Madrid, Barcelona, or Malaga. We would say that flying through Madrid is the best choice to achieve Granada from U.S., and the both Madrid and Barcelona are excellent choices to achieve Granada from EU.

The Airport of Granada lies approximately 15 km. (9.5 miles) west of the city of the same name, and about 100 km. (62.5 miles) from Jaen, the city which forms part of the full name of the Airport.

Attendees can easily fly to Granada via Madrid with Iberia, or via Barcelona with Iberia (Vueling Airlines). Iberia is the Spain flagship airline and the leading carrier between Europe and Latin America. From its Madrid hub, it flies to some 110 destinations in 40 countries across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas.

Getting Granada

Granada Airport is located 15 km. away from Granada. From the airport there are two ways of getting the city:

Bus: Departs every 30 minutes from the bus stop at the airport, with several stops in the city (phone: +34-958-490164). A single ticket costs 3€ and it takes 30 minutes to reach the downtown.

Taxi: The cost to the downtown is around 30€ (phone: +34-958-280654 / +34-958-132323).

Go to Granada via Malaga may also be a good idea. The Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport, popularly known as Pablo Picasso Airport, is situated in the district of Churriana, Malaga, at 7 km. Southwest of the downtown of Malaga. It is the most important airport of Andalusia.

There are direct buses from Malaga Airport to Granada bus station. The trip takes 2 hours and one-way ticket costs about 14€. There are buses to Granada every hour till 9:30pm approx. A taxi from Malaga to Granada costs around 160€. Alternatively, the attendees may rent a car.
